易混辨析: common/ordinary/usual/normal
common 指“共有的,公共的;共同的;常见的”。反义词为rare。作“普通的”讲时可与ordinary换用。如“普通人”也可以说成common people。
ordinary 意为“普通的,平淡无奇的”,指没有什么特别的地方。
usual 意为“平常的,通常的,一向的”,含惯例之意。
normal 意为“正常的”。
He is in ordinary clothes. 他穿着平常的衣服。

二.现在完成时的被动语态的各种句式
1.肯定句句型:主语+ have / has been +过去分词
Her motorbike has been ___________. 她的摩托车被偷了。

2.否定句句型:主语+ have/has +not+ been+过去分词

三.使用现在完成时的被动语态要注意以下几点
1.现在完成时的被动语态的两个助动词,即have/has 和 been,两者缺一不可。
2.与一般过去时的被动语态的区别。一般过去时的被动语态所表示的动作或状态与现在的情况没有联系,而现在完成时的被动语态则强调与现在情况的联系。
This novel was finished last year. 这部小说是去年完成的。
This novel has been finished. 这部小说已经完成了。
3.一些特殊动词,如borrow,finish,begin,buy,start,return,marry,open,join等构成的现在完成时的被动语态不能与表示一段时间的状语连用。
4.用在时间或条件状语从句中,表示将来某时要完成的动作,即用现在完成时的被动语态代替将来完成时的被动语态。
You can go home as soon as your task has been finished.你的任务一完成你就可以回家了。

signal
“信号”,常指约定俗成、传达某些信息的信号,也指灯光、声音或字符标志

“标志;标记”含义广泛,指事物留下的深刻印迹或某物上用于辨别该物品的标志,比sign更侧重于区别性或揭示性的标志,有时不一定十分直观或明显

 sign
“记号;标记”,用法最广,可指符号,也可指情绪、性格的直观显示,还可指具体的用于识别或指示的标志,如指示牌、卡片等。借喻作“征兆;迹象”讲

 symbol
“象征;符号”,指被人们选出的物体或图案用来代表另一事物,并作为该事物的标记或象征
